About The Practice

Hi, I’m Lindsey, owner of Tailwind Counseling.

I founded Tailwind to help adults in Boston and throughout Massachusetts navigate the complexities that come with feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, anxious and self-critical.  I draw on my real-life experience, clinical training, perspective, honesty, and care to support my clients.

So...what's a Tailwind?

As a former competitive rower in Boston, I know the rare thrill when the wind is at your back, gently pushing you forward to cross the finish line. That’s called a tailwind. You still have to row hard, but the meters feel easier, and more powerful. Something’s finally working with you, not against you.

That’s how I see therapy; as a tailwind.

Therapy doesn’t do the work for you, but it helps you with a consistent push that makes the hard parts more manageable. It’s the relief of knowing you have steady support while moving toward the life you want.

For more than a decade, I built the kind of corporate sales and marketing career that looked great on paper and sounded good at cocktail parties, but I was losing touch with myself in the process.

Underneath, I felt like I was living according to a script someone else had written and trying to be perfect at it. The path was clear, but it wasn’t one I had chosen. Over time, I grew disinterested, disconnected, and lost sight of why I was working so hard for something I felt unsure about.

Eventually, I stopped and listened to the voice inside me telling me what I had been ignoring; I wasn't happy and needed to make a change. Through reflection and hard work, I began to define my own story, one built around my values, beliefs, and strengths. That work has led me here.

Now, I help others who are inherently driven, capable, and somehow detached from their own path, wondering why they do the things they do. Wondering where they are going and how to get there. Together, we work to rebuild a life that feels lived from the inside out and that inspires more balance and fulfillment.

I truly believe that insight without change can feel hollow, and change without insight rarely lasts. My work blends therapy with actionable change, helping you see what’s driving you and why. I want to help you develop a rock solid sense of self, and a strong belief that you have a choice in how you live your life and to go live it.

You deserve to do big, exciting things that feel authentic, real, and entirely your own.

Services

Much of my work centers on understanding the internal pressures that drive imposter syndrome, perfectionism, anxiety, and the inner critic voice we hear too much. Together, we explore how these dynamics developed, why these patterns persist, and how to move toward a more sustainable and peaceful life. While those themes are common, our work isn’t confined to them!

I offer therapy for individuals ages 21 and up, and do not see children, couples or families at this time.
